Audition

YES Academy alumni are not required to audition if applying for the SAME program.  Please submit the application form only.

All NEW participants must audition for our programs.

To submit your audition material(s) for Jazz, Broadway, Hip Hop and Break Dance, and String Orchestra and Chamber Music, please choose ONE of the following methods:

(1)     Upload your video on YouTube, or SkyDrive and submit the exact URL in the application form.

(2)     Send your audition materials to thailand@yesacademy.info (file size no larger than 5MB). PLEASE INDICATE YOUR NAME, INSTRUMENT AND PROGRAM (JAZZ, BROADWAY, ETC) IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF YOUR MESSAGE.

(3)     Live auditions will be held on April 23 from 11am to 2pm in the Chamchuri 9 Building on Chulalongkorn University campus.

 

Jazz

Instruments

Hip Hop and Break Dance

Please submit ONE of the following:

  • One choreography
  • Free style
  • If you are auditioning as a team or crew, one choreography is enough audition material for the entire team or crew.

 

String Orchestra and Chamber Music

Requirements

Please submit ONE of the following:

  • One classical solo piece in any style
  • One Etude

 

Composition

Requirements

  • Notated score of any recent composition for any size ensemble in PDF format.
  • One recording, video (optional)

Please submit your audition material(s) to thailand@yesacademy.info (file size no larger than 5MB). PLEASE INDICATE YOUR NAME, AND PROGRAM (COMPOSITION) IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF YOUR MESSAGE.

 

Conducting

Requirements

  • At least one video of a recent performance or rehearsal excerpt where applicants conducting. The excerpt(s) should be no longer than 10 minutes in total, showing the ability of the applicant in communicating. The use of a baton is preferred, but not required.

There will be last minute auditions on May 3, from 11am to 2pm for all programs on a space available basis. These auditions will also be held in the Chamchuri 9 Building. PLEASE CALL TO RESERVE YOUR AUDITION SLOT AS WE HAVE LIMITTED TIME.

Deadline for receiving all audition materials is Friday April 12.  You will be informed by April 24 by e-mail if you have been accepted.

Once accepted, be prepared to audition again on the first day of class for placement into the correct groups, ensembles and solos for your level.
